You must not depend on health insurance when planning to have a cosmetic surgery because most of these surgical procedures are regarded as not obligatory. You have to pay for the full nose job cost without any insurance assistance.

Nose job is the common term for nose forming or nose shaping. A large number of people undergo nose jobs, making it the most familiar cosmetic surgery practice in the world. people who are not satisfied with the shape or size of their noses tend to go through nose jobs to look and feel better about themselves. The first question that comes to mind when planning on undergoing a nose surgery is the nose job cost.

Nose job cost depends on the specialist who executes the surgical procedure. The location and the funds required for the surgery are also taken into consideration. Nose jobs can be covered by insurance only if the surgical treatment is due to medical purposes such as breathing difficulties but if your reason is solely cosmetic, you must pay for the full nose job cost.

Depending on the procedure demands, about $3000 to $6000 is the usual nose job cost. The cost of the surgery tends to be higher if it is done in a hospital instead of in an outpatient clinic or surgical treatment center. The cost of the nose job can be higher if the surgery needs a general anesthetic because the presence of an anesthesiologist is required for the procedure.

The cost of before and after procedural care, fees for other facilities and the place in the country are issues in determining the nose job cost. A famous or an in demand cosmetic surgeon as well as popular areas such as Beverly Hills, New York City or Atlanta can also add to the high cost of nose jobs. In addition, the complexity of the procedure is another factor.

Nose job cost must not be the sole issue to deal with on deciding where you should undergo the surgical procedure. You have to know the surgeon’s qualifications and experience as well as the professional records of the clinic you wish to go.

Getting a nose job is a serious decision and you must be very certain that you want to undergo through the surgical procedure. There are aspects to reflect to be suitable for a nose job such as physical and mental health, and your age. Look for a good surgeon and ask other people who have experienced the surgical procedure so that you can have an idea about the process, the right fee and the things to expect. Do a research regarding the doctors and make sure that they are licensed to perform cosmetic surgical procedures. It is necessary to visit your surgeon, have a consultation beforehand, and ask every questions of your concern. Be certain that you have enough resources to undergo the nose job and if the surgery will put you to debt, reconsider and reflect on it. You will know the specific instructions from your surgeon to prepare you before the procedure.

A nose job is the medical alteration of one’s nose look to make it look better.  Nose jobs have changed over the years and the nose jobs we get today are very different nose jobs than the first ones performed.

The first nose jobs were performed around 500 BC by Sushruta, a Hindu physician.  In that time, the removal of the nose was a punishment given out for certain crimes.  Sushruta was the first to try to concept of plastic surgery for the nose as he tried to reconstruct the amputated noses of his patients.

Currently nose jobs are normally performed for aesthetic reasons.  In cultures that are highly focused on outside appearance such as Hollywood and Los Angeles nose jobs are becoming popular.  Nose surgery has become more and more popular among those not so famous as well.

Africans ans Asians are the people most likely to get nose jobs.  They usually want to make their noses look more Caucasian or European.  The different types of nose job that a person would get depends heavily on the structure of her nose.  Therefore, the type of nose job performed on an African is a different nose job than the type performed on an Asian.

Nose job tips:

  • Make sure you go to a place that is certified and has a lot of experience with a good reputation.
  • Find out as much as you can about how to prepare for nose surgery and what to do afterwards
  • Talk with the surgeon beforehand so you will be comfortable with the details of the surgery and what the expected results are.
  • Be aware that you probably wont be able to return to your regular life immediately after the surgery.  There will be a period of recovery.
  • Nose bleeding can happen after a nose job.  Do not try lying down on your back, instead, sit up and tilt your head forward.  Then use a tissue to stop the blood.  If the bleeing continues for a long period, you’ll want to consult your doctor.
  • Avoid blowing your nose for a few weeks after any surgical coverings are removed.
  • Avoid athletic activities for a couple fo weeks after surgery.
  • Avoid over exposure to the sun for upwards of 3 months after your operation.

Most nose jobs call for general or local anethesia, depending on the seriousness of the surgery. Incisions, or cuts, are made inside the nose or on the piece of skin between the nostrils.  The doctor then restructures the bone and cartilage inside the nose.  There is some risk involved and a nose job should only be performed in a a hospital or clinic with all the proper equipment.

Some people get several nose jobs during their lives.  California nose jobs seem to happen on a regular basis.  Stars are admitting to have multiple nose jobs seeking that perfect apearance.  You don’t want to get in the practice of having a nose job that is meant to fix the mistake made in the last nose surgery.

For those that are afraid of going under for a surgical nose alteration, there are non-surgical rhinoplasty prosedures.  In non surgical nose jobs, the shape of the nose is altered by filling in the depressed parts.  Fortunately for the patient this doesn’t require any invasive surgery techniques, but it may not be possible to get the same results as can come from surgical nose modifications.

Different nose jobs allow for and in fact can require different methods of surgery. Talk to a doctor and find out what would work best for your particular circumstance.  And remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There are a few different types of nose surgery.  One type is known as “open” nose surgery.  In this case the surgeon has more ability to properly adjust the patients nose becuase they can see right into it.  A small cut is made in the position between the notirls, which gives the surgeon the ability to lift that part of the nasal skin off the nose for a better view of the bone and cartilage.  This type of nose surgery does leave a scar, but a good nose doctor will not leave a scar that is visible from a short distance.

Another type of nose surgery is “closed”.  In this case cuts are made on the inside of the nose, which makes it so any scars will be hidden.  This nose job technique is a little more difficult to perform and can sometimes make it impossible for the surgeon to get to the desired areas of the nose and perform the nose job in the best way.

In many cases there are distinct advantages and disadvantages to the different methods of nose surgery.  You’ll want to know what type of nose surgery your doctor performs and which case would be best for your situation.

These two nose job techniques can be used in different kinds of nose surgery.  Augmentation is building out or restructuring of a bent or mishapen nose.  The opposite of that and the most popular kind of nose job is a reduction.

A good plastic surgeon or cosmetic surgeon can usually reshape a nose to just about any shape or style that is desired.  However, small changes in a nose shape can make for huge differences.  That’s why rhinoplasty is one of the most precise kinds of cosmetic surgery.  One tiny millimeter too much or too little, and you can have an awkward and unnatural looking nose.

Again, the most common form of nose surgery is the nose reduction.  Most nose surgeons these days use computer imaging technology to show a patient before and after images of how the surgery should turn out.  Surgeons use the input of the patients to determine how the images turn out.  Before technology made these coputer images available, patients had to trust in their nose surgeons and how they said it would turn out.  The new computer imaging tools can show what every little amount taken off or added to will look like.

There are several different types of nose surgery in practice today.  It’s important to know what kind your surgeon has experience in and what kind is best for your particular procedure.  You can’t have too much information, after all, you don’t want to come out looking like Michael Jackson.

A nose job can be one of the most difficult surgeries to perform for a doctor.  The nose sits in a highly visible place and defines a lot of the character of the face.  For a good nose job, your nose surgeon needs to recognize the features that define your nose as unique.  The nose doctor must also be able to make your nose correspond to the relationships with the rest of your face to create the appearance of attractiveness.

Centered Nose

In an attractive face, the bottom of the nose up to the top of the eyebrows should compose about one third of the total height of the face.  The width of the nose is ideally about one fifth of the faces width.

The Nasofrontal Angle

The shape at the top of the nose is defned as the nasofrontal angle.  It is the angle between the flat of the brow ridge, and the nose’s top.  As attractivness is normally defined, this angle is suggested to be between 115 and 130 degrees.

When a nose job requires altering of this angle the nose doctor is also changing the nose’s projection.  For horizontal reference one uses the top of the ear canal to the bottom of the eye socket.  The bottom line for the nose is perpendicular to the line and runs trought the fold at the side of the nose.  The projection is a line to the bottom line.  The projection of the nose is known as the length of the tip line.  The rusulting triangle that is formed by the projection, the bridge of the nose, and the bottom line will ideally be a 3,4,5 right triangle.  The angle of between the bridge of the nose and the vertical would be desired to be about 30-40 degrees.

Angles in the Lower Face

A connection from the end of the nose to the end of the chin should cross the line defined by the bridge of the nose, at an angle of about 120-130 degrees. The lips are ideally 2 to 4 mm behind this vector. The nasolabial angle, the angle between the lowest point of the nose and the philtrum, the depression that defines the middle of the cupid’s bow of the lips, is one of the most important characteristics in defining whether a profile appears feminine or masculine.   As always it is important that your doctor knows this information and the only way you can know this is by discussing the process with him.  The masculine angle is normally closer to 90 degrees, while the feminine angle is usually closer to 120 degrees.   Make sure you are getting the procedure that provides the results that you want.

Nose jobs can be a challenging art.  Many nose job doctors avoid these types of surgeries.  Even when they advertise that they do nose jobs, whenever they come apon a difficult nose job, they choose to refer it to a specialist, preferrring to perform only the simple ones.  But, as we’ve stated many times, your nose is a big part of how you look, and so, it’s worth making sure you get the right job done, by the right doctor.

Make sure your nose job is performed by a doctor who can explain the concepts of facial aesthetics to you.  Work with a specialist and don’t take changes with your face.

Getting a nose job seems to be a pretty common event these days.  If you look any any of the popular celebrity magazines, you are likely to see several celebrities who have had nose jobs.  To some people it may seem as regular a thing to do as changing their hair style.  But, for most people in the rest of society, the facts about nose jobs are not very well known and it’s important that you get familiar with all the information about nose jobs before you decide to proceed with nose surgery.

What is a nose job?

Although most people call them nose jobs, the actual term for the surgical procedure is rhinoplasty.  It is also often referred to as nose reshaping.  Ocasionaly a doctor may suggest that a person reshape their nose due to a medical condition.  If, say as example, you have a hard time breathing through your nose, or if there is something blocking the nasal cavities, or even if you have had an accident that left your nose disfigured.  However, the most common reason people get nose jobs is because the want their noses to look better.

The following list displays some common reasons that people use for desiring nose reshaping.

  • Having a nose that is too big or prominent
  • Having a noticeable deformation of the nasal bridge
  • Having a long nose that makes the rest of the profile look awkward
  • Having a nose that is too wide for the face
  • Having too thick of a nasal bridge
  • Having extreme flaring of the nostrils
  • Having a crooked nasal bridge

Frequently we see that aging alters the shape of the nose.  In elderly people, the support structure of the nasal brige begins to lose its firmness and this ends up causing the nose to lose the contour it had to begin with.  The nose can begin to look bulbous or have a noticeable droop at the end.

As technology improves and surgical advances are made, surgeons have more and more options available to them in figuring out how to alter the shape of someone’s nose.  In the pase, nose surgeries were limited to lengthening or shortening the end of the nose.

Different techniques and procedures are necessary in order to have the best nose job results.  Different faces need different strategies to end up more attractive.

Currently, nose jobs are able to end with a very natural looking nose.  Twenty years ago, the after affects of a nose job were very noticeable.

Results of Nose Jobs

The nose surgery usually requires that patient be put under general anesthesia.  A cut is made on the edge of the nostril or on the end of the nose to decrease the size of the nostrils

There is also a technique known as open rhinoplasty that has the surgeon make a cut at the bottom of the nose to make it easier to seperate the tissues from the support structure of the nose.  This technique is usually used in when the bone and cartilage in the nose need to be reshaped.

To make the nose smaller the doctor will purposefully cause a fracture in the nasal bones.  After that, he is able to reset them in a better and more attractive way.  He can put them in a more compact position which will have the affect of making the nose look smaller.

If a patient is actually trying to increase the site of his nose, then the doctor will take cartilage from other parts of the patient’s body.  He will then graft that cartilage on to the nasal structure.  Cartilage can be taken from the nose itself, the hip bone, ribs, or even the ear.  Your surgeon should talk about the options of such procedures before any operation takes place.

In these types of nose jobs, the tissue is grafted and the skin arranges itself around the nasal bones to result in the final and desired shape.

When a nose job is required to improve breathing conditions, the obstruction is taken out of the nasal cavity to open up the airway.  Again their are different precedures to tackle this kind of surgery.  At times the doctor will place a splint to the nasal bridge in order to stop any grafted tissue from creating a block in the nasal cavity.  This will also help to keep the nose safe and uninjured during the procedure.
